The Universe of Kitchenaid Stand Mixer Colors

Choosing the best stand mixer color across the wide range of KitchenAid mixer colors can be challenging. Years ago stand mixers came in pretty boring metal or white colors – which relegated them often to your cabinet or even a basement. In recent years, however, the dramatic increase in available Kitchenaid stand mixer colors has enabled your stand mixer to now be part of your kitchen décor.

Storing a kitchen mixer in a cabinet often results in a tough decision whether to use it or not. You have to drag it out, likely moving a ton of stuff to get to it, then after you’re done clean it and find a spot for it again.

We’ve known people who spent $400 on a high-end stand mixer and ended up using it once or twice a year because the only place they had to store it was in their basement. Having the right color from the more than 30 KitchenAid Mixer Colors available will make you want to showcase your stand mixer – and keep it on the counter.

Choosing the right  KitchenAid mixer attachment and color will add a new decorating dimension to your kitchen, is a conversation piece, and most importantly will allow you to keep it handy for use.

This article is an attempt to showcase all the available colors as of 2016/2017 for the KitchenAid line of kitchen mixers – allowing you to pick a stand mixer color and design that enables it to remain on your counter-top year-round and ready for immediate use.

Keep in mind – if you have special needs or focus on something like bread baking, be sure and not focus on color first! Our article on the best stand mixer for heavy dough will help you decide on a model before you get to choose a color.

Kitchenaid Mixer Color Choices

The colors available, unfortunately, depending on which model of KitchenAid mixer you decide to buy. You obviously don’t want to spend an extra $200 and get an enormous mixer just due to color. In fact, you want to be sure you’re selecting a mixer that meets your needs and also fits on your counter-top. Otherwise, this entire kitchen decoration and color scheme discussion is for naught!

Artisan® Mini Color Choices

The Artisan Mini is a brand new stand mixer launched in 2016 by KitchenAid. A slightly smaller and lighter version of the iconic Artisan line, it retains the same power, reliability and attachments you’ve come to expect from KitchenAid. It also introduces yet more decisions you need to make with respect to the KitchenAid mixer colors available specific to this model.

The Artisan Mini unfortunately only comes in a limited set of 10 colors (see below), compared to substantially more colors across the Artisan and Artisan Design series. However, this is more colors than most stand mixer competitors offer, so this isn’t a bad thing.

List of All KitchenAid Mixer Colors as of 2016

Like most manufacturers, KitchenAid is known to change its mixer colors over time, so this table below shows the various colors available as of late 2016. We love how the company follows what we consider “the nail polish” approach to naming their mixer colors – nothing can be a plain red or blue!

Note that various models of stand mixers from KitchenAid have different colors available. We have listed 4 of the most popular models below and show the colors available in each mixer model. Since KitchenAid mixer colors can change from year to year, we will do our best to keep this list updated over time!

We also didn’t want to waste a lot of space showing each color. We discuss a cool online tool below that can actually help you select a color for consideration – but first, what mixer colors are available!

A very useful website in addition to simply going to the KitchenAid site itself to view and select a color that matches you can be found at http://kitchenaidcolourology.ca/.

This site enables you to enter in some basic criteria and then shows you a range of KitchenAid mixer colors that meet your criteria. Pretty cool. All we’re missing is the virtual reality version of this where you can strap on goggles and visualize it sitting on your counter!

Also, once you’ve picked out your ideal mixer color, don’t forget to look at the wide range of KitchenAid attachments you may need with your mixer.

Copper KitchenAid Mixer Color

There is probably more discussion around the copper KitchenAid mixer than any other color they offer. Maybe because it looks so distinctive, will match almost any color in your kitchen? Copper has always psychologically be associated with cooking utensils and “cleanliness”, which likely adds to its appeal. It also has been associated with wealth as a metal over time as well.

They offer the copper mixer in two different colors: Antique Copper, and Copper Pearl. However, there is a KitchenAid Copper mixer outside of these two model lines above from the “Metallic Series” – named Satin Copper. You can see the variances in the shades of copper in the below pictures.

The beautiful copper mixer above is from the “Metallic Series” of KitchenAid mixers. Note that it is not cheap!

The Copper Pearl KitchenAid mixer above is also beautiful, and is subtly different than the metallic series copper mixer. Unfortunately it is only available in the Professional 600 line of mixers.

This bold antique copper mixer shown above is only available currently in the KitchenAid Artisan Design series.

Pink KitchenAid Mixer Color

A close runner-up to the copper mixer is the pink stand mixer. If you ever check search volumes or get engaged in a conversation about mixers [who doesn’t?], the pink mixer is one that invariably is brought up. While many consider the copper mixer to be a somewhat “unisex” color, we think the pink mixer is definitely more on the feminine side. Not that we would ever judge a male chef that has a pink mixer of course – we would however judge him on the results of his cooking!

Unlike the other range of mixer colors, they chose to simply call this color “Pink” – which honestly is nice to see. Our brains get a bit confused the longer the descriptive names get for some of their shades of colors! The image below gives you a great visual for how this might look in your kitchen.

Red KitchenAid Mixer Color

A red stand mixer conjures up images of a 60’s diner, with the red vinyl bench seats and checkered table clothes. Ok – maybe not for everyone. However, red is a bold color, and even a splash of red in your kitchen can dramatically change the décor – much like a strong accent color in other settings.

Red can add a bright, cheerful emotional reaction to both yourself and visitors to your kitchen. However, it is a bold color that grabs the eye immediately, so we recommend really visualizing where on your counter top the mixer will spend its time and survey the impact on overall color design of your kitchen. Nobody ever said choosing one color out of the amazing diverse KitchenAid mixer colors palette would be easy!

If, for example, you have a 60’s style kitchen with gold or green appliances, a red KitchenAid mixer on your counter probably is going to look a bit ridiculous [no comments please around the gold or green appliances – many of us thought those were killer back in the day].

KitchenAid provides two flavors of red for your mixing pleasure – Empire Red, and Candy Apple.  Empire Red is shown above, while Candy Apple is shown below. Enjoy being bold and possibly even a bit retro!

Blue KitchenAid Mixer Color

If your kitchen decor runs more towards needing a vivid blue accent, the blue KitchenAid mixer could be the next perfect edition. While likely not as cheap as a framed print to hang on your kitchen wall, if you value the reliability and feature set of the KitchenAid brand of mixers, blue could be just the color you need out of the KitchenAid mixer colors palette!

We’re convinced that the demand KitchenAid stand mixers in various shades of blue must be high, as they offer their iconic stand mixers in no less than 8 shades of blue!

Although we could show you a color palette highlighting these colors, it can be different to visualize how they would appear on an actual mixer. Therefore, let’s cut to the chase and simply show the actual pictures of the various shades of blue KitchenAid Mixers! If blue is your color, then the KitchenAid brand is your top choice to find a shade you want that won’t fade year after year.
